Reunification: A Necessity In The Post Pandemic Period.
Introduction
It is very sad to witness the existence of the so called “pandemic" that has thrown all human societies into a state of confusion, as the world undergoes a literal universal shut down. Recently, most nations adopted a gradual process to embark on social and business activities as COVID-19 cases reduced. Therefore, there is need to reeducate every Social group about reunification basically, or particularly on the principles and guidelines they have been acting towards. It is paramount to study and checkmate the aftermath of the COVID-19 so as to properly engage in the basic and necessary activities and programs that will ensure the restoration of the social and psychological well-being of the people and groups. Many political systems have started the process of restoration and the rebuilding of human lives, organizations and relationships.
Notably, some States have been performing effectively to achieve their desired objectives through the introduction of new technologies while some are not doing well in this regards. Therefore, for those striving to achieve more success, there is a need for reunification so as to fasten growth and proper improvement while others also need reunification to strengthen them so as to attain this objective.
This reunification is simply a process of reuniting and joining together parts, units or individuals that have been separated by time, distance or an event. This will result in the restoration of team spirit, corporation, oneness, togetherness, unity, peace, and development among others.
There is a need for reunification of our social interactions and gatherings, activities, discussions. Psychologically (reunification of the mind), we must ensure reunification come into play. Reunifying or reuniting of every social group (to achieve a legal goal) will bring out the best from any social gathering. The moment the decision of reuniting take place, corporation will set in.
Definition of Terms
Reunion: it can be defined as a process of bringing back togetherness. It can also be seen as a process of reuniting. It can also be a policy in favor of reunion.
Social group: A collection of people who interact with each other and share similar characteristics and a sense of unity.
Post Pandemic Era: the immediate period after curbing the widespread of a particular disease. It can also be explained as the aftermath or events after the successful elimination of the deadly disease.
Therefore there are nine factors to be considered during post pandemic era in every social group. They are:
1. Love : this is an affectionate, benevolent concern and care for people and for their well-being. Every social group should be benevolent enough to care for it's members. Reunification sets a pace for Love. There is a need for every social group to start building atmospheres where the members will be able to completely express love one to another and engage in activities that aim at fostering their interaction.
Nigeria as a nation needs to inculcate the spirit of love more than before. Nigeria has 250 or more ethnic groups. The most populous and politically influential include: Hausa Fulani, Yoruba, Igbo (Ibo), Ijaw, Kanuri, Ibibio, Tiv. Although a level of love kept about 250 or more ethnic groups together from the early 60s till date. Greater level of love will be required in the days after the pandemic. The moment an act of reunification comes into play, there will be love.
2. Understanding : In every social group there is a need to clearly state their aim, goal, objective, principles, hierarchical set up order for proper understanding. Understanding these elements of the organisation and the essential knowledge of rights and duties of every members should be a core focus of the social organization and institutions; private and public.
3. Punctuality. This is the process where a person acts towards the appointed time. Every activity needs punctuality. To be punctual will help to achieve a set objective at the appropriate time. It takes punctuality to build up a safe, creative atmosphere. Every member of a good social group needs to be punctual.
4. Commitment : This is very important in reunification. A person who is ready for unity must be committed. Commitment is multidimensional e.g commitment to the activities, commitment to the organizational or group principles and to the group itself. It is a state of being pledge or engage.
5. Responsibility: In the act of reunification, every member of a social group ought to know his/her responsibility. It can be seen as a state of being responsible, answerable, accountable or the obligation to carry out a task to a successful conclusion.
6. Self-awareness : In reunification, there is a need to have self consciousness, an act of being aware of every duty and activity carried out by that particular group of people to achieve a desired objective.
7. Trust: during the process of reuniting when there is trust for each other, the policy of reunification will fully come to play. It is a way to mitigate untruthfulness. When the members of the social group completely trust themselves their desired objective will be attainable.
8. Consideration for others : It is paramount to adopt a way of considering other members who have been incapable or not competent enough to perform their duty, if this happen in a social group there should be a replacement for a better administration and those who are not capable should learn from the competent ones. Therefore every one should be placed in a position where they can best carry out their exercise or duty into conclusion.
9. Discipline: finally, in reunification, there should be discipline. Discipline is the quality of being able to behave and work in a controlled way which involves obeying particular rules or standards. It can be seen as follows: controlled behavior, self control, an enforced compliance or a systematic way of obtaining obedience. Every member should be found with this act, when there is also discipline, reunification will successfully operate.
CONCLUSION
Reunification can be much more applicable in any place humans carry out activities. It is achievable, it is a purposeful and coordinated approach because it (reunification) ensures promotion, improvement, development in all spheres of life, in as much humans who carry out exercise into conclusion can co-operate effectively, by coming together with the spirit of oneness and togetherness and irrespective of their socio-cultural group every desired objectives, goals, aims will be accomplished.
